Are You Ready to Jump-Start Your Career Shift?
Does this sound like you?
I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard these statements.
Ironically, they're usually coming from individuals with a lot of experience and accumulated wisdom who want to make a change to something that fits their interests and their sense of purpose at this stage of their lives. They just don't know how to get started.
The Blockers that Rent Space in Our Minds:
In years of coaching individuals through career changes, almost everyone struggles with the same issues:
-Too many ideas
-Too few ideas
-Fear of change/loss of income/loss of prestige
-No idea how to get started
-A sense that it's the wrong time.
These are real issues, for sure. We can't just snap our fingers and end up in a new career. And there's some risk involved if you do it wrong. (Don't ask my wife about everything I did wrong when I changed my career 20 years ago!)
But, What If There Was a Process to Get the Risk and Fear Out of Designing a Career Change?
The good news is there is such a process! It's called the Career Reinvent Framework, and I've worked with hundreds of professionals to refine this into a powerful tool for helping individuals get started, find direction, and keep moving on their important career projects. The six stages of the framework help individuals move from "no idea" or "too many ideas" to here are the top two or three options, and here's how I'm going to make a choice.
The Six Stages of the Career Reinvent Framework:
Determination: assessing and deciding on the right kind of career change. Like-kind job or a true career shift?
Self-Discovery: mining you, your experiences, superpowers, and interests to look for pointers to possible "next" options.
Exploration: casting a wide net for ideas and then adding in your life priorities to help filter down to top prospects.
Experimentation: getting the risk out by designing active experiments and testing ideas before leaping.
Preparation: focusing on the business planning, including time horizon, captial and lifestyle issues prior to launching.
Launch: planning for "Go Time" and launching into your next career.
In your Six-Hour Career Energize program, you work with me through the first three stages to jump-start your career change project. And, I provide you with a roadmap and resources to help you navigate the rest of the process.
The Career Reinvent Framework Gets the Risk Out and Provides Direction and Focus:
The feedback is universal! Working through the framework reduces ambiguity, provides a road map, and gets the risk and fear out of making a career change!
Designing Your "Next"
Getting the Risk Out!
Getting the Fear Out!
Those are three HUGE benefits!
Here's How the Program Works:
You Enroll in the program and I immediately kick out the pre-session work assignments. Expect to spend several hours working through them (and asking for some input from others) in preparation for our first live session.
Our first three-hour session focuses on translating your homework into ideas. You'll leave with a BIG IDEA LIST (B.I.L.) and a set of LIFE & CAREER FILTERS to help you separate the "really cool" items on your B.I.L. into the "really cool and possible" smaller list. During this session you'll work in both large group and small group breakout sessions.
Between Sessions 1 and 2, you fine-tune your LIFE & CAREER FILTERS and spend time reducing your list to your top 3 to 5 options. As needed, you check in with Art via e-mail for questions and guidances.
Our goal in Session 2 is to ensure you leave with a game plan to Explore and Experiment with your top two options and a prioritized backlog of ideas should those initial two not prove viable. We work to define what viable experiments look like and, importantly, what to do when one of your ideas proves viable. The final part of our session focuses on how to design a transition from your current career to your new career at a pace that meets your needs.
Following the program, Art runs bi-monthly open sessions for Q/A.
All That for Just $197!
